Bahrain defeats Oman in an exciting final and wins the Gulf Cup

The Bahraini national team won the Gulf Cup title (Gulf 26) after snatching an exciting victory from its Omani counterpart in the final match of the tournament today, Saturday, at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait.
Despite being one goal behind until the 78th minute of the match, the Bahraini players were able to turn the match upside down within one minute and take a two-goal lead 10 minutes before the end, during which they maintained the lead until the final whistle.
The Omani national team took the initiative to score in the 17th minute following a corner kick taken advantage of by Abdul Rahman Al Mushafri when he rose higher than everyone and put a wonderful header into the Bahrain net, announcing the Omani Red lead.
In the second half, the Omani team tried to advance again and settle the match, but its Bahraini counterpart was more persistent in defense and more risky in attack, winning a penalty kick that Mohammed Marhoon converted into the equalizer (1-1) in the 78th minute.
Only one minute had passed after the equalizer until the Bahraini national team led a strong counterattack that ended with a cross pass, which the Amman defender Al-Musalmi finished off in his national team's goal with friendly fire.
The team of Croatian coach Dragan Talajic was able to maintain their lead until the final in an exciting and enthusiastic match in which goalkeeper Lutfallah's teammates snatched the crown in key moments.
The Bahraini national team achieved the second Gulf title in its history after the 2019 edition, while Oman did not succeed in achieving a third after being crowned in 2009 and 2017.
