The Egyptian Pyramids team snatched an exciting victory from its guest, Esperance of Tunisia, with a score of 2-1 in the match that brought them together (Sunday) in the African Champions League.
During the match that was held at the Air Defense Stadium, in the fourth round of the CAF Champions League groups, Pyramids came from a goal down against Esperance to win 2-1 thanks to two late goals, one of which was an imaginary double kick.
Algerian Youssef Blayli put Esperance in the lead in the 56th minute after receiving a cross pass from the right side from Mohamed Ben Ali inside the Pyramids penalty area, and he converted it with a magic touch past goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy.
Mostafa Fathi equalized for the hosts in the last minute after a shot that deceived Esperance goalkeeper Aman Allah Mamish.
Ibrahim Adel snatched victory with a stunning goal from a back kick in the second minute of stoppage time, following a perfect cross pass, to seize the three points for the Pyramids.
Despite the defeat, Esperance maintained its lead in the group with 7 points from 4 matches, ahead of Pyramids on goal difference.
Angolan Sagrada comes in third place with 5 points after a 1-0 victory over its guest, Djoliba of Mali, who is at the bottom of the standings with two points, in another group match held at the same time in the same round.
