This morning, Mr. Al-Kuraihi Taher Kanaan - Head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Southern Transitional Council, met with the delegation of the Clubs Coordination in Abyan Governorate at the department’s office in the General Secretariat of the Southern Transitional Council.

Kanaan welcomed the members of the coordination coming from Abyan Governorate, and during the meeting he heard from the coordination about the activities of the clubs in Abyan Governorate and what the clubs are facing.

The discussion revolved around the activities that will be held in the governorate under the auspices of the Department of Youth and Sports in the Southern Transitional Council and the launch of the Abyan Governorate Cup, in addition to a package of sports activities and enhancing the role of youth.

Mr. Al-Kuraihi Kanaan said that the Department of Youth and Sports is striving to activate the sports activities of Abyan Governorate in a manner befitting the governorate’s large size and always being supported by the stars whose name resonates among the country’s stadiums.

Al-Kuraihi Kanaan directed the coordination delegation to arrange and prepare for the upcoming activities so that they appear in an honorable manner in terms of preparation and organization like other southern governorates, and that Abyan is considered a major incubator for football and includes many large clubs that receive direct attention from the department to activate its effective role in local participation.

In the context of the meeting, the coordination delegation expressed its thanks and gratitude for the role of the Youth and Sports Department in the Southern Transitional Council in activating and revitalizing sports in the country, and that the Abyan Governorate clubs are ready for the upcoming activities and are very thirsty for the launch of the Abyan Governorate Cup.
