The junior team began its journey in the West Asian U-17 Championship, by winning against its Iraqi counterpart, with two goals to one.
The two teams will face off at Al Saada Stadium in the Omani city of Salalah in the first round of the competition.
Iraq's only goal in the match was scored by player Alaa Waheed in the 26th minute from a penalty kick.
While Abdul Rahman Abdul Nabi scored a double for Yemen in the third minute from a penalty kick and Muhammad Shams Al-Din in the fifth minute.
