Al-Hilal booked a ticket to the semi-finals of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, after defeating its guest, Al-Taawoun, with a score of (3-0), this evening, Monday, at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Sports City Stadium.
The Al Hilal hat-trick was scored by Michel Delgado in the 45th minute + 2 minutes, Aleksandar Mitrovic in the 51st minute, and Malcolm in the 84th minute
The match started at a moderate pace from both sides, and neither team was able to impose its control in the midfield, and the first 15 minutes were devoid of any threat to the goal of both teams.
The first real opportunity in the match came in the 25th minute, when Saud Abdel Hamid advanced on the right side and sent a cross to his colleague Mitrovic, but the Serbian player's header went over the goal.
Al-Taawoun responded to Al-Hilal’s threat, and Musa Power almost opened the scoring in the match, when he shot a missile from inside the penalty area, which was returned by the left post.
Before the end of the first half, Michel Delgado succeeded in opening the score for Al-Zaeem, thanks to a powerful shot that the Al-Taawoun goalkeeper failed to clear, amid objections from Al-Taawoun players due to a mistake, but the referee returned to the video technology, and then confirmed the validity of the goal.
Al Hilal entered the second half rushing towards the attack, and Mitrovic succeeded in giving up the result for his team in the 51st minute, with a powerful header, taking advantage of his compatriot Savic’s cross.
Joao Pedro wasted the opportunity to close the gap for Al-Taawoun when he was alone with goalkeeper Bono, but he did not handle the ball well and failed to shoot towards Al-Hilal’s goal.
In the 76th minute, the post returned again to protect Al Hilal from a new goal, when it responded to Abdel Fattah Adam’s shot.
Al-Hilal took advantage of Al-Taawoun’s rush to attack, and Frenchman Malcom snatched the third goal for his team in the 84th minute, confirming his team’s victory in the match.
