The Yemeni junior national team qualified for the semi-finals of the tenth edition of the West Asian Football Federation Championship, after winning with a clean goal over the home team, the Omani national team, in the match that brought them together this evening at Al-Saada Stadium in the city of Salalah.
Yemen controlled the course of both halves of the match, and player Abdul Rahman Al-Khader was able to score the winning goal in the 26th minute of the first half. Our team had many opportunities during the two halves of the match, but did not exploit them in the correct way.
The team was able to secure a ticket to the semi-finals by topping its first group with six full points after defeating Iraq with two goals and Oman with one goal, and it remains to win a match with the Lebanese team.
According to the system, the group stage is held in one stage, and the first and second place in each group qualify for the semi-finals, and then the winners from this round move to the final match.
