The Turkish NTV channel said that the local Super Cup final, which was scheduled to be held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce today, Friday, was canceled after a dispute between the two clubs and the Saudi authorities.
News reports said that the dispute began in light of allegations that the Turkish national anthem would not be played, and reports that Saudi officials would not allow the players to wear T-shirts bearing the image of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey, before the start of the match.
