Al-Nasr succeeded in turning the tables on its host, Al-Taawoun Club, by four goals to one, in the match that brought the two teams together this Saturday evening, at King Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium, in the 19th round of the Roshan Saudi Professional League.
The Al-Nassr quartet was scored by Brozovic in the 26th minute, Aymeric Laporte in the 35th minute, Otavio in the 50th minute, and Cristiano Ronaldo in the 90th+2 minute, while Al-Taawoun’s goal was scored by Ashraf Al-Mahidaoui in the 13th minute.
With this victory, Al-Nasr raised its score to 46 points in second place, while Al-Taawoun’s score froze at 34 points in fourth place.
The match started with caution from both teams, with a slight advantage for Al-Taawoun, which was able to reach Al-Nasr’s goal in the ninth minute, which witnessed Al-Omari committing a foul against Musa Barrow, so the match referee awarded a penalty kick for Al-Taawoun after returning to video technology.
Ashraf Al-Mahidawi took the penalty kick, and Al-Aqidi blocked Al-Mahidawi’s shot, who succeeded in following it up, giving his team the lead in the score at the 13th minute.
Al-Nasr then rushed towards the attack, and its attempts to adjust the score yielded results, in the 26th minute, after Talisca passed a magic pass to his colleague Brozovic, who shot a strong ball from inside the penalty area that landed in Mayslon’s net.
Spanish defender Aymeric Laporte succeeded in putting his team in front, when he scored the second goal with a controlled header in the 35th minute.
Al-Nasr almost doubled the score before the end of the first half, when Mane raced down the left side and sent a cross to Otavio’s head, but his header just overcame the crossbar.
Al-Nasr’s attack continued in the second half, and Ashraf Al-Mahidawi committed a fatal mistake in his team’s penalty area, and passed the ball to the Portuguese Otavio, who found himself in front of Al-Taawoun’s goalkeeper, to score his team’s third goal in the 50th minute.
Al-Taawoun coach Shamouska brought in Abdel Fattah Adam, instead of Moaz Fakihi, in an attempt to improve his team’s offensive performance.
In the 73rd minute, the crossbar prevented Al-Nassr's fourth goal, after it responded to Cristiano's missile shot.
Alvaro Medran relied on individual solutions, and tried to surprise Nawaf Al-Aqidi with a Qouqa shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot passed next to the post. After that, Al-Aqidi saved a goal that achieved Al-Taawoun, when he blocked a solo shot by substitute Abdel Fattah Adam.
Cristiano Ronaldo left his mark on Al-Nasr’s victory after scoring the fourth goal, with a header that landed in the net of Al-Taawoun’s goalkeeper
