24 hours were enough for Real Madrid to regain the top spot in the Spanish League from its traditional rival Barcelona, after a difficult match against Real Sociedad.
Real Madrid defeated its guest, Real Sociedad, with a score of 2-1, during the match that brought them together, on Sunday evening, at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, in the fifth round of the Spanish League.
The royal team suffered a lot in the first half, as after only 5 minutes they received a goal from Ander Barrenchea, created by their former Japanese player Takefusa Kubo.
The Japanese player performed at amazing levels, dribbled past Real Madrid players on more than one occasion, created dangerous chances on goal, and scored a goal that was ruled out for offside.
But things changed completely in the second half. Only two minutes after it started, Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde scored the equalizer, his first goal of the season.
The Uruguayan player broke his goal drought with Real Madrid in the Spanish League, which continued since February of this year.
Real Madrid continued its awakening in the second half, until its Spanish striker, Joselu, succeeded in scoring the second goal, created by Spanish full-back Fran Garcia, who also scored the first goal.
Real Madrid succeeded in turning the tables in the third match out of 5 it played during the current season of the Spanish League, specifically against Almeria in the second round, and Getafe in the fourth round.
The victory returned Real Madrid to the top of the Spanish League standings with 15 points, two points ahead of Barcelona, which was at the top for only 24 hours with 13 points.
It is noteworthy that the royal team is seeking to regain the Spanish League title in the current season 2023-2024, after Barcelona snatched it from it during the last season.
