Ismaila Sarr opened the scoring in the 16th minute before Habib Diallo added the second goal in the 71st minute, before Castellito closed the gap for Cameroon, but Sadio Mane eliminated the Cameroonians' hopes of returning with a third goal late in the match. The “Lions of Teranga” achieved their second victory in the competition and ensured their presence in the next round.
