Two Arab teams bid farewell to the Asian Cup

The national teams of Bahrain and Syria exited the 2023 Asian Cup, after losing to the national teams of Japan and Iran, respectively, in the round of 16.
In the first match, the Japanese national team defeated its Bahraini counterpart 3-1, setting up a match with the winner of the match between Iran and Syria in the quarter-finals.
While the Iranian national team qualified for the quarter-finals by defeating the Syrian national team on penalties with a score of 5-3, after the end of the original and extra time in a positive draw with one goal to the same.
Thus, the number of Arab teams that bid farewell to the Asian Cup increases to five teams, after the exit of Qatar, the Emirates, Oman and Morocco.
The two teams that qualify from the quarter-finals will compete for the bronze medal and reach the final.
