Arsenal defeated its guest Liverpool 3-1 on Sunday, at the Emirates Stadium, in the 23rd round of the English Premier League.
The Gunners' hat-trick came from Bukayo Saka, Martinelli and Trossard in the 14th, 67th and 90th + 2 minutes.
While Gabriel Magalhaes scored Liverpool's own goal by mistake (45+3).
The victory raised Arsenal’s tally to 49 points, making them runner-up, reducing the gap with the Reds, the leaders, to only two points.
Vacant spaces appeared in the Reds' back line from the beginning, and Arsenal almost exploited them with an early goal from Martinelli's run on the left side, which he ended with a perfect cross towards Saka, whose head the ball touched.
The response then came from Jacopo, who launched with the ball after a silky through pass, shooting a low shot that passed near the post.
Arsenal returned to exploiting the exposed gaps in Liverpool's defense, after Havertz received a deep pass, putting him face to face with Alisson, but the latter brilliantly blocked his shot, but Saka followed the ball and put it into the empty goal, scoring the lead goal for the hosts.
Liverpool did not show any positive reaction after that, and the pace of play calmed down a little until the Gunners made a new attempt with a creeping low shot fired by Gabriel, but it landed in Alisson’s hands.
Alison then appeared again when he blocked a shot from Kai Havertz directed towards his own goal from inside the penalty area.
And after the London team was on its way to finish the first half ahead, Luis Diaz succeeded in putting pressure on Saliba, who committed a grave mistake by not clearing the ball.
Diaz was able to touch the ball from behind Saliba, and it hit Gabriel's body and strangely turned into the net, so the Reds equalized with friendly fire moments before the end of the first half.
The guests entered the second half with full force, trying to score the net as quickly as possible, as the first attempt came from a missile shot fired by McAllister that passed next to the post.
Curtis Jones also followed in the footsteps of his Argentine colleague by entering from the left side into the Arsenal penalty area, before trying to put the ball in the far right corner, but it passed near the post.
Odegaard responded with a low shot, which hit the foot of a defender and hit the net from the outside, turning into a corner kick.
Arsenal was able to advance again after Alisson made a grave mistake by leaving the penalty area, before he strangely failed to clear the ball, so that it was prepared for Martinelli, who easily put it into the net.
Kuyor missed the chance of a certain goal, after he received a perfect cross inside the penalty area, while he was unmarked, but he met the ball with an easy header, which landed in Alisson’s hands.
Substitute Nunez appeared for the first time with a dangerous attempt against the Gunners' goal, after he penetrated from the right side before firing a missile shot, which missed the goal.
Two minutes before the end of normal time, Konate committed a violation by obstructing Havertz, receiving a second yellow card that led to his expulsion.
Trossard fired the coup de grâce at the visitors by scoring the third goal after a start from the left side, after which he penetrated into the penalty area before putting the ball between Alisson’s feet.
