With Akram Afif’s historic hat-trick... Qatar retains the Asian Cup with a hat-trick in Jordan

The Qatar national team retained the Asian Football Cup title for the second time in a row, after winning this Saturday evening over Jordan 3-1, in the final match that brought them together at Lusail Stadium.
The Qatar national team scored its three goals from the penalty spot through Akram Afif in the 20th, 71st and 94th minutes, while Jordan's Yazan Al-Naimat scored in the 65th minute.
The two teams quickly entered the atmosphere of the match, each searching for his goal in scoring and enhancing the opportunity to win the continental title.
The Qatar national team was not late in threatening the Jordanian goal when Afif was alone from the left side and shot, and Abu Laila turned his ball into a corner.
Afif had another opportunity, as he received a free shot inside the penalty area, but he shot a weak ball into the arms of Abu Laila.
The Qatar national team, Afif, Jassim and Al-Moez, worked to apply advanced pressure on the Jordanian defenders, searching for mistakes that would lead them to exploit them.
In turn, the Jordanian national team dealt with its rival’s ambitions calmly, and the runs of Al-Taamari and Alwan from the flanks constituted a source of nuisance to Qatar’s defense.
The Jordanian national team responded to Afif's chance, with a coordinated attack led by Alwan, who penetrated and prepared a typical ball for Al-Naimat, who shot, but Barshim tackled the situation.
The Qatar national team won a penalty kick in the 20th minute, and Afif advanced and successfully shot it to the right of Abu Laila.
The performance of the Jordanian national team did not improve, at a time when Lucas was rising to head a cross ball that Abu Laila sent away for a corner.
The excitement was absent in the last minutes, after many scenes of cut balls.
Alwan then penetrated and passed to Al-Naimat inside the penalty area, and he shot it forcefully, hitting defender Mohamed Waad for a corner kick, ending the first half with Qatar leading by a goal.
In the second half, the Spanish coach Lopez, Qatar's coach, made two substitutions at once, bringing in Abdulaziz Hatem and Ali Assad instead of Al-Haydos and Jassim.
The Jordanian national team pressed, hoping to change the result, and after the fans’ voices rose, Haddad received Al-Naimat’s pass and shot it forcefully, but Barshim was brave in keeping it away from his goal.
Luck favored Al-Nashama, as Al-Taamari shot strongly, but Barshim blocked it, while Al-Rawabda’s attempt needed some precision for his ball to enter the goal.
Al-Nashama scored the equalizer in the 65th minute, as Al-Naimat took advantage of Haddad’s cross, prepared it for himself, and fired it powerfully into Barshim’s net.
The Jordanian team was not very happy with the equalizer, as the match referee quickly awarded a penalty kick to Qatar after returning to the VAR technique, so Afif came forward and executed it successfully in the 71st minute.
Abu Laila blocked Afif's shot from a fixed position for a corner, while Jordan's performance witnessed an unjustified decline, so the Nashama coach made a substitution, withdrawing Mardi and inserting Saleh Ratib.
Afif was alone with Abu Laila's goal, but the latter came out and cut off the ball, so the referee of the match returned to the VAR technique and awarded a third penalty kick, which Afif executed to the right of Abu Laila in the 90th + 4th minute.
