The Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) national team won the African Cup of Nations for the third time in its history, after a difficult victory over its Nigerian counterpart 2-1, in the final of the competition.
The first goal for Nigeria was scored by William Troost Ekong in the 38th minute of the first half.
Franck Kessie scored the equalizer for Côte d'Ivoire in the 62nd minute.
The winning goal for the “Elephants” was scored by Sebastien Haller in the 81st minute.
