Thomas Tuchel, coach of Bayern Munich, announced shocking news to the team’s fans after Borussia beat Munster 4-0, yesterday, Tuesday, in the first round of the German Cup.
The match witnessed the exit of German player Serge Gnabry injured after colliding with the Munster goalkeeper in the first 10 minutes.
During statements to Sky, Tuchel said: “Gnabry broke his forearm, and will be absent for a few weeks.”
The German coach indicated that Gnabry underwent surgery in Munich, today, Wednesday, adding, “It is bitter for me personally, as well as for the team, as he is an important player and a wonderful personality.”
The injury occurred in the first 4 minutes of the match, as Gnabry tried to score the home team's net with an early goal, but collided with goalkeeper Johannes Schenck the moment he shot the ball.
