On Thursday, the administrative body of Al-Tilal Sports Club commemorated the first anniversary of the late educational, sports and media personality Awad bin Awad Bamdhaf, and inaugurated his book (Aden, the Cradle of Sports... Birth and Departure).
In the event, which was held under the patronage of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Naif Al-Bakri, and the Minister of State, Governor of Aden, Ahmed Lamlas, the deceased’s companions, including athletes, educators, and media professionals, recalled his virtues and contributions, based on which he deserved to be one of the pioneers and founders of sports media in Aden.
The advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Abdul Hamid Al-Saidi, spoke at the event, in the ministry’s speech, in which he pointed out that the deceased was his companion in the educational field, and he was one of the first to pay attention to educational values and transfer them to the atmosphere of sporting activities through his interest in youth and talent.
Captain Adnan Sabou also announced, during a speech at Al-Tilal Sports Club, that the covered hall in the Muhammadi Club was named after the deceased Awad Bamdhaf in appreciation and gratitude for his sports, media and educational contributions for more than 60 years.
The son of the deceased Bamdhaf, Muhammad Awad, spoke at the ceremony, who thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the event commemorating the first anniversary of his father’s passing, appreciating the role of Hayel Saeed Anam Group of Companies, through the Grain Silos Company (Al-Sanabel) in printing his father’s book (Aden Mahd). The ceremony witnessed the honoring of the deceased through his family, by the Ministry of Youth and Sports with the highest shield offered by the Ministry, in addition to the Al-Tilal Club honoring the deceased.
