Al-Hilal won the Saudi Professional League title for the 19th time in its history, with a 4-1 victory over Al-Hazm, today, Saturday, in the 31st round of the tournament.
Al-Hilal raised its score to 89 points at the top of the Roshen League standings, while Al-Hazm’s score froze at 20 points in last place.
Al-Hilal expanded the points difference with Al-Nasr to 12 points with only 3 rounds remaining, which means it is impossible to compensate.
Al-Hilal continued its streak of consecutive victories in the professional league for the 24th match in a row, avoiding defeat in 31 rounds so far.
The Hilal quartet was scored by Mitrovic (15 and 45 + 3), Ahmed Al-Jawad (39) by mistake in his own net, and Savic (45 + 6).
On the other hand, Al-Hazm’s goal was scored by Fayez Slimani in the 34th minute.
The first half witnessed complete control by Al Hilal over possession and the course of the game by passing the ball right and left, and sending crosses from the right and left fronts.
Al-Hazm’s defenses succeeded in avoiding Al-Hilal’s attacks during the first minutes, before Mitrovic opened the scoring via a penalty kick in the 15th minute.
Less than a minute later, Mohamed Badamousi was able to equalize for Al-Hazm after a complete one-on-one with goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, but the referee decided to cancel the goal due to offside.
Al-Zaeem continued its continuous attacks on Al-Hazm, which suffered a lot of pressure amid a complete decline, but it surprised everyone with the equalizing goal in the 34th minute by Fayez Sulaimani, who was alone in Al-Hilal’s goal and scored the net.
Al-Hilal regained its balance, and was able to translate its control by scoring the second goal in the 39th minute, through Ahmed Al-Jawad, the Al-Hazm player, by mistake in his own goal, via a shot that the Al-Hazm goalkeeper failed to equalize.
In the 42nd minute, Mohammed Kanno fired a missile shot that was blocked by Al-Hazm’s goalkeeper before the back line was able to move it away from the danger zone.
Al-Hilal was not satisfied with this, but continued to put pressure on Al-Hazm by scoring the third goal through Mitrovic in the third minute of stoppage time, after a special pass from Savic from the left side.
A few seconds later, it was Savic's turn to threaten Al-Hazm's goal with a powerful shot that hit the defence, before he repeated the attempt, taking advantage of a defensive trick, to add the fourth goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
Al-Hazm started the second half with great force, threatening Al-Hilal’s goal with a shot from Junior Mourinho that hit the left post in the 52nd minute.
Al Hilal coach Jorge Jesus made two substitutions, replacing the duo, Renan Lodi and Nasser Al-Dosari, instead of Yasser Al-Shahrani and Ruben Neves in the 62nd minute, then Hassan Timbukti, instead of Kalidou Koulibaly, and Mohammed Al-Qahtani, instead of Malcolm.
Mitrovic was able to play a distinctive header in the 65th minute, which went over the crossbar, before Al-Hazm responded with a corner kick from which he almost scored the second goal, but the ball hit the right post.
Mitrovic almost scored the fifth goal in the 83rd minute, after a surprise pass from Malcolm across the left side, but the Al-Hazm defense succeeded in saving his goal.
In the 88th minute, Mohammed Al-Qahtani threatened the opponent’s goal with a sudden shot from the right side, but Al-Hazm’s goalkeeper blocked it very brilliantly.
Omar Al-Rawili was able to reduce the difference for Al-Hazm in the second minute of stoppage time through Omar Al-Rawili, but the referee decided to cancel the goal, so the match ended with Al-Hilal winning 4-1.
