FC Barcelona officially announced its contract with German Hansi Flick, former coach of the German national team and Bayern Munich, to succeed Xavi Hernandez.
Xavi officially left Barcelona's coaching staff earlier today after reaching a final agreement to terminate his contract.
Barcelona issued a statement on its website, in which it said: “The club and Hansi Flick have reached an agreement stipulating that the German will be the team’s coach until June 30, 2026.”
The statement added, “Flick signed a contract at the club’s headquarters with Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, the first vice president responsible for the sports field, Rafa Yuste, and the club’s sporting director, Anderson Luis de Souza (Deco).”
The Barcelona account published, via the “X” platform, a short video clip of Flick, in which he sent a message to the Barca fans, saying: “Colliers.. this is our time.. Forza Barca.”
Flick had led Bayern Munich to achieve many achievements, the most important of which was the Champions League title in 2020, but he failed during his experience with the German national team, as he exited the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in the group stage.
