The competitions of the (Fast Play) tournament, which was organized by the Aden Chess Federation under the supervision of the Youth and Sports Office, ended with Khaled Walid Al-Ammari being crowned champion, in the refresher tournament held at the Shamsan Club in Al-Mualla District.

The tournament witnessed the participation of (40) players from various clubs in the governorate, who competed in the (Quick Play) competition, amidst strong competition from the tournament participants. In the end, the star of the game and champion of the governorate, Khaled Walid Al-Ammari, was able to win the championship cup and be crowned champion. While Raouf Muhammad Abd al-Rab came in second, and Basil Muhammad Alawi came in third place.

At the conclusion of the tournament, which was attended by the President of the Branch Union, Ramzi Muhammad Qasim, and the Secretary-General of the Union, Amjad Fahmy, the three first place winners were honored with cups, medals, and financial prizes, and the fourth and fifth place holders were also honored with sums of money.

In the same context, before holding the championship competitions, the Aden Branch Chess Federation organized an extensive meeting with the players of Aden clubs in the presence of the branch members, during which the branch’s point of view and position on participating in the Republic Championship was clarified and its merits were laid out before everyone, through a speech by the President of the Branch Federation, Ramzi. Muhammad Qasim appealed through him to His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Al-Bakri, for rapid intervention to serve the game as a result of the individual decisions of the President of the General Chess Federation.

Ramzi Muhammad Qasim pointed out: For 11 years, the federation has been practicing random selections for the national team without holding qualifiers and without the knowledge of the federation members, as everyone was surprised by sending the delegation of our national team to the International Federation, which angered the federation members and the heads of the game’s branches in the governorates, while everyone was preparing to participate in the Republic Championship, after which it will be named. National team players.
