This afternoon, the delegation of the first Yemeni football team returned to Aden International Airport in the capital, Aden, coming from Jeddah Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after playing the return match with the Sri Lankan team, which ended in a positive draw with one goal for each.
The national team had previously succeeded in winning the return match by 3-0 in Damak in the city of Abha, Saudi Arabia. Our national team has qualified for the second round of the joint qualifying competitions for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup, along with the Emirates, Bahrain and Nepal.

A source in the mission’s presidency confirmed that the team’s players were granted leave within two weeks and returned to continue their training camp and prepare for the upcoming matches, especially since the team qualified for the second round of the joint Asian qualifiers for the World Cup and the Asian Cup.
