The Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Saleh Al-Bakri, discussed today, Sunday, with the Secretary General of the Local Council and Deputy Governor of Aden, Badr Assistant, a number of issues related to sports and youth affairs in the governorate, and the concerns of its clubs.
During the meeting, which was attended by Undersecretary Dr. Azzam Khalifa, Al-Bakri praised the efforts of the local authority in Aden, headed by Governor Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, and its support for the various sporting activities held there, in addition to its support for the clubs and their various activities.
Al-Bakri stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between the ministry and the governorate for the benefit of sports and its youth, and to support infrastructure projects that were damaged by the war, and to work together to rehabilitate and build them, especially the stadiums and facilities of the sports city in Sheikh Othman, in addition to the aspirations of everyone in Building and constructing the Olympic swimming pool in Aden.
He explained, from the first moments of establishing the ministry in Aden, we were keen to distance sports and its activities from political tensions, and make it a space for tolerance and harmony, calling on the local authority in the governorate to preserve the clubs’ properties and facilities.
For his part, the assistant thanked the efforts made by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and its keenness to support the governorate’s clubs, stand by the youth and athletes in it, and support infrastructure projects, noting that the local authority in Aden is looking forward to more cooperation and coordination for the benefit of the governorate’s sports.
