The Adani film (The Weary Ones), out of 12 Arab films, directed by Amr Gamal and starring Abeer Mohamed and Khaled Hamdan, won the grand prize at the Casablanca Film Festival for Arab Film in its fifth session, which concluded its activities today, in the city of Casablanca.
The film (The Bucket), among 16 films by director Adel Al-Haimi, also won the award for best directing short films, adding another achievement to Yemen at this Arab Film Festival.
The Ambassador of Yemen to the Kingdom of Morocco, Ezzedine Al-Asbahi, received the two awards on behalf of the winners, stressing that this achievement is a source of pride for all Yemenis, especially in light of the difficult circumstances that the country is going through due to the war.
He pointed out the positive role that cinema plays in promoting the values of peace, coexistence and acceptance of others, pointing out that it forms part of the collective memory of the nation.
