The Adani film “The Exhausted” by Adani director Amr Gamal will be screened today at the “Mostra De” hall, which specializes in showing cinematic films in the Spanish city of Barcelona.

The film deals with real events in Aden, Yemen, in 2019, as the story follows the suffering of a couple and their three children after the father and mother lose their jobs due to the country’s difficult economic conditions, and after the mother discovers that she is pregnant with her fourth child, the parents try to find a way to have an abortion despite their society’s conservative stance towards this. This forces the family to make difficult decisions to escape this predicament.

Those responsible for the film stated that its screening in Barcelona is a new achievement for the film, which was well received in international film forums.

They added that the film won 7 international awards, the most recent of which was the Golden Hugo Award at the 59th edition of the Chicago International Film Festival.

The film “The Weary Ones” is considered the first Yemeni film to be shown at the Berlin International Film Festival. It also participated in many other international film festivals, including the Valencia International Film Festival, the Taipei Film Festival, and the Chicago International Film Festival.
