A recent study revealed a healthy habit that can help reduce the risk of stroke caused by blood clots, in addition to reducing heart rhythm disorders.
The results showed that among those who used the thread of the teeth, 4092 people did not suffer a stroke, and 4050 people were not diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat, a condition that may increase the risk of stroke or heart failure.
Data analysis reveals that cleaning teeth with the thread is linked to a low risk of infection with a 22%stroke, a condition in which a blockage of blood flow to the brain occurs. The researchers also found that this habit reduces the risk of blood clots from the heart by 44%, and the risk of arrhythmias by 12%.
The researchers emphasized that these benefits are independent of other factors, such as cleaning the teeth regularly or visiting the dentist, which indicates that the use of the tooth thread repeatedly plays a decisive role in reducing health risks.
Sen said: "Oral health is associated with the levels of inflammation in the body and atherosclerosis. Using the tooth thread may help reduce the risk of stroke by reducing oral infections and enhancing healthy habits."
He added: "Some believe that dental care is expensive, but the teeth thread is usually affordable and available to all, and it can have a long -term positive impact on public health."
The results are scheduled to be presented at the International Stroke Conference 2025.
