At dawn on Thursday morning, rescue teams were able to rescue an elderly woman alive, 72 hours after her house collapsed due to floods. According to local media, rescue teams found the elderly woman, who appeared to be in her seventies, on the upper floor of the house in which she lived.
The photo published by the local Libyan newspapers showed the old woman’s clinging to life, as was evident from her holding on to the two young men who saved her from death, after long hours of isolation, as a result of the water that surrounded her house.
The local and foreign rescue teams not only arrived at the old man’s house, but they were able to enter isolated areas in Derna at dawn, and rescued a large number of besieged families, as they faced difficulties while entering the stricken city’s neighborhoods, due to the torrent and the destruction of roads and rubble.
