The International Book Fair will be held in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, during the period from September 28 to October 7, in which a book of translation and commentary by the Yemeni researcher Muhammad Ali Atboush Awad, entitled Minor Folklore of Aden, will be presented
The book includes a translation and commentary of what was covered in an ethnographic report full of curiosities written by an Egyptian archaeologist and intelligence officer named Oliver Myers, after he visited one of the suburbs of Aden and documented the remains of paganism there in the middle of the twentieth century.
Researcher Muhammad Atboush conducted a field investigation with the people of the region through their existing descendants, who were included in the report and which remained neglected for many years and did not receive completion or due study until this translation was published and commented on.
In the middle of the twentieth century, the city of Aden enjoyed a high and advanced level of civilization at that time, and the village was a few kilometers away from Aden and lived according to prehistoric patterns and beliefs.
The exhibition, in which our country participates, contains many historical, cultural, social and other books that express the depth, antiquity and authenticity of Yemeni history in the Arab and Islamic world.
It is worth noting that the distinguished Yemeni researcher Muhammad Ali Atboush Awad graduated from the Department of International Relations at the Black Sea University in Georgia and has published many books on criticism of scientific miracles, criticism of religion and science by Dar Masarat and magical thought in Islam, the roots of science and religion by Dar Al-Rafidain.
He has peer-reviewed research in a number of scientific periodicals specialized in the field of South Arabian inscriptions and Yemeni popular beliefs in both Arabic and English.
Researcher Muhammad Atboush is currently working, in addition to many valuable studies, on preparing a project to collect popular beliefs.
