Russian neurologist Anastasia Tarasova warned that migraine attacks may be caused by some foods that people eat without being aware of the negative effects they have on health.
Regarding the topic, the doctor said: “To avoid migraine attacks, you must be careful not to eat some foods that cause irritation to the nervous system, and foods that may cause headache attacks include bacon, sausages, and some types of processed meat.”
She added: “There are many types of cheese that may also cause these problems, as well as smoked meat and fish, some types of nuts and legumes, sauerkraut, and wine. These substances cause headache attacks because they contain tyramine.”
The doctor indicated that tyramine is a natural chemical compound that is formed from the decomposition of the amino acid tyrosine, and this compound leads to constriction of blood vessels in the brain, which causes headache attacks.
