The security authorities in Iraq were able to arrest a person who claimed to be the “Awaited Mahdi” in the center of the capital, Baghdad.
The accused is 26 years old. He was wearing a green scarf and had a beard. He climbed the fence of the 17th Ramadan Mosque in Al-Firdaws Square in central Baghdad.
The accused chanted loudly in a crowd of worshipers, claiming that he was a messenger from God, and that he was the awaited Imam Mahdi.
The security forces arrested him, and it was later discovered that he resides on the right side of the city of Mosul in the north of the country.
