A recent study reveals that some common painkillers cause avoidable harm to people with certain health conditions.
The study warned people who suffer from conditions such as heart failure and peptic ulcers about the risks resulting from taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen and naproxen, are widely used to relieve pain from headaches to chronic arthritis pain.
NSAIDs cause harmful side effects for some people, such as stomach ulcers, dizziness, kidney or liver problems, and, in rare cases, heart attacks or strokes.
