In Gaza, the Israeli army reported that the officers, two of them with the rank of major general and the third with the rank of lieutenant colonel, were killed in central Gaza during fierce battles, without providing additional details. This brings the number of Israeli military deaths to 338 since the start of the ground campaign in Gaza on October 27.
At the same time, Palestinian eyewitnesses reported that Palestinian women were assaulted by the Israeli police in Bab al-Amud in Jerusalem, and a video clip spread showing a woman passed out lying on the ground. The Israeli police have not yet commented on this incident.
In Germany, ISIS claimed responsibility for a knife attack that occurred on Friday in the city of Solingen in the west of the country, killing three people and wounding several others during a festive festival.
The German police announced the arrest of a person in connection with the investigation into the attack, while the Public Prosecutor in Dusseldorf indicated that “terrorist motives” behind the incident could not be ruled out. Investigations are continuing to determine whether the detained person is connected to the attack, amid efforts by the German authorities to arrest the perpetrator of the attack and find out his motives.
