At a time when Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah was leading the screens announcing the targeting of a military base in Israel, a chicken coop in the north of the Hebrew state was burning as a result of one of the Lebanese group’s missiles.
A missile that hit its target or lost its way made Hezbollah's response to the assassination of its military commander, Fouad Shukri, a source of ridicule among social media users, who considered it disappointing, after nearly a month of warning and waiting for that attack, which was largely calculated.
In a speech he delivered on screen and broadcast by the party’s Al-Manar channel, Nasrallah said that the “Glilot Military Intelligence Base,” located near the city of Tel Aviv, “was a primary target for the operation in the depths,” noting that it was “approximately 110 kilometers away from the border.” Lebanon is responsible for many of the assassinations that take place in the region
He pointed out that the “supporting target” of the attack was the missile defense base in Ein Shimra, located seventy kilometers from the border, stressing that a number of marches targeted these two targets, “but the enemy is keeping quiet.”
Widespread sarcasm
While Israel did not acknowledge these strikes and their impact, saying only that it intercepted all the missiles and drones that were launched towards a “strategic target” in central Israel, the scenes of chicken deaths and the burning of the bird coop were a source of ridicule on social media.
Circulating video clips showed a fire inside a poultry farm in northern Israel as a result of missiles fired from southern Lebanon, resulting in the death of a large number of poultry.
A scene that Syrian journalist Qutaiba Yassin said about, in a tweet on his account on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter): “Finally, after waiting, Hezbollah responds to the killing of its chief of staff, bombs an occupation farm, and commits a massacre with dozens of attacks,” adding: “It was not recorded.” Any human injury as a result of the party’s missiles, which the party says are 320 missiles.”
As for journalist Member Member Al-Ahmari, he said in a tweet via his account on the “X” platform, “Hezbollah targeted Israel at dawn today, and the victims were chickens.” This is a fact, not a joke. The victims are chickens.”
He continued sarcastically: “The response to the killing of Ismail Haniyeh was by targeting a chicken coop!”
A poultry barn caught fire in northern Israel
As Saudi journalist Hussein Al-Ghawi said sarcastically: “The operation was completed successfully. Death to the chickens.. Curse the chicks...”
A tweeter called Omar Madaniyeh said: Hezbollah avenged the soul of Fouad Shukr in exchange for a chicken, adding in a second tweet, which he attached to a picture of some chickens on a meeting table: “The chickens are meeting to respond to the Hezbollah militia missiles that targeted them.”
