Delegations of Israel and Hamas left, on Sunday evening, the Egyptian capital, Cairo, after a new round of negotiations regarding a ceasefire in Gaza.
A Sky News Arabia correspondent said that the Israeli delegation participating in the truce negotiations in Gaza left Cairo after a round of negotiations during which no progress was recorded.
The Hamas delegation also left after meeting members of the Egyptian and Qatari delegations and hearing the results of the last round of negotiations.
Sources close to the negotiations reported that the Hamas delegation demanded the implementation of what was agreed upon last July, which was based on what was stated in US President Joe Biden’s speech and the Security Council resolution.
The Hamas delegation confirmed the movement’s readiness to implement what was agreed upon, in a way that achieves the interests of the Palestinian people.
The delegation also stressed the need for any agreement to include a permanent ceasefire, complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the freedom for residents to return to their areas, relief and reconstruction, and a serious exchange deal.
