The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 7 citizens and their referral to the Public Prosecution for “committing crimes that threaten national unity and societal peace and security,” according to a statement published Thursday.
The statement stated: “The security authorities in the Ministry of Interior arrested 7 citizens and referred them to the Public Prosecution, for committing crimes that threaten national unity, peace and community security by publishing posts inciting abhorrent tribal fanaticism, hatred and hate in society.”
The Ministry of Interior continued its statement by saying: “When the Ministry of Interior announces this, it warns against everything that might harm public order.”
The Ministry affirmed that “the security authorities stand firmly in the face of anyone who tries to undermine national cohesion by inciting abhorrent tribal strife, and that a deterrent penalty will be their fate.”
