Revolutionary Guard: We struck important targets in Israel and we warn of a devastating attack if Tel Aviv responds

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed that the attack it is currently launching against Israel comes in response to the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, and Brigadier General Nilforshan, the commander of its forces.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said, on Tuesday evening, that “the attack on Israel came in response to the assassination of the head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, and the brigadier general in the Revolutionary Guard, Abbas Nilfaroushan.”
The statement said: “We have begun striking important military targets with dozens of missiles in the occupied territories, and if Israel responds to the Iranian operation, it will face more violent attacks.”
He continued: “The attack was a decision made based on a decision from the Supreme Council for National Security and Army Support.”
On Tuesday evening, Iran fired more than 100 missiles at Israel, with explosions lighting up the skies of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and other cities, amid sirens sounding warning of more attacks.
Israeli Radio quoted the army as saying that more than 200 ballistic missiles targeted various areas, including military sites in the country.
An Israeli military spokesman said that the Israeli air defense system “is fully operational, detecting threats and intercepting them wherever necessary.”
The Israeli army advised residents of Tel Aviv and other parts of the center of the country to remain in shelters and safe rooms.
Earlier, officials at the White House and the Pentagon reported that Iran is preparing to launch a missile attack on Israel after its invasion of southern Lebanon.
NBC News quoted a White House official as saying that Washington is actively supporting preparations to defend its ally, warning of “serious consequences for Iran.”
For its part, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard warned that any Israeli response to this operation would be met with more destructive and stronger attacks.
The Revolutionary Guard considered this to be the first wave of attacks on Israel.
Iran's attack comes weeks after the escalation of the conflict with the Tehran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah, which is suffering from the killing of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in an Israeli raid.
Both the United States and Israel warned Iran, which pledged to respond to the expanding Israeli attacks on its proxies throughout the Middle East.
