The Israeli "Wala" website reported, on Saturday, that senior American officials expressed their deep concern about the leak of two American intelligence documents, which dealt with Israeli preparations for an attack on Iran, which may indicate the possibility of a "major security breach" of the American intelligence complex.
p>The Israeli website stated that the two documents were leaked on an account in the “Telegram” application linked to Iran.
The US Department of Defense and the Office of the US Director of National Intelligence declined to comment on these leaked documents, but they did not deny their authenticity, according to what the Walla website reported.
A Telegram channel called “Middle East Spectator” claimed on Friday that it had obtained documents from a source in the American intelligence community, related to Israel’s preparations for an attack on Iran.
The timing of the leak occurred while Israel was completing its preparations to respond to the Iranian missile attack that occurred on October 1, which was considered an attempt to influence or disrupt the expected Israeli response.
A senior Israeli official said, “The Israeli security establishment is aware of the leak and takes it seriously.”
Transferring Israeli weapons and training
The documents, according to the Walla website, included a report by the US Department of Defense’s intelligence agency, which was circulated within the US intelligence community 3 days ago.
The leak includes details of operations carried out in recent days at several Israeli Air Force bases, including the transfer of advanced weapons intended to attack Iran.
The report also indicates that, according to intelligence information obtained through wiretapping, the Israeli Air Force this week conducted a training exercise in which fighter jets and drones participated, as possible preparation for an attack on Iran.
The leaked report also pointed to very close and detailed monitoring by US intelligence of preparations in Israel for an attack on Iran, including the use of satellites to spy on operations being carried out at Israeli Air Force bases.
The leak also indicates a “very serious security breach” within the US intelligence community, which led to highly classified information reaching elements linked to Iran, the report said.
Senior American officials said it was a “very serious incident,” but noted that the leak, in their assessment, “would not affect Israeli operational plans.”
Biden knows the timing of the attack
US President Joe Biden said on Friday that he had knowledge of how and when Israel would respond to the missile attacks launched by Iran earlier this month, but he refused to provide details, according to what Reuters reported.
Biden's statements came during his participation in a four-way meeting in Berlin, with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer
