The Lebanese Ministry of Health revealed, on Saturday, the death toll of the war between Israel and Hezbollah since October 2023.
The ministry said in a statement that 2,868 people have been killed and 13,319 others injured since October 2023.
She added that “109 Israeli raids were recorded on Lebanon in the last 24 hours, killing 71 people and wounding 169 others.”
The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah was renewed a year ago when the group initiated rockets at Israeli sites in support of the Hamas movement at the beginning of the Gaza war, and its pace escalated sharply in the past few weeks.
Since last September 23, Israel began launching a wide series of raids that are still continuing to this day, targeting many areas in southern Lebanon, the Bekaa in eastern Lebanon, the capital, Beirut, the southern suburbs of Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and northern Lebanon.
Israel says that among the goals of its operations in Lebanon are eliminating Hezbollah's capabilities and ensuring the safe return of tens of thousands of displaced people from northern Israel.
