Russian warnings continue regarding the US administration allowing Ukraine to use long-range missiles to strike the Russian interior.
After the Kremlin accused the US administration of adding fuel to the fire, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Russian Duma, Leonid Slutsky, warned against escalating the war in Ukraine.
Slutsky said, in an interview with TASS on Monday, that striking the Russian interior with American missiles will inevitably lead to a major escalation that threatens to have more serious consequences.
He also stressed that if the information is confirmed, his country will respond in the strongest possible way.
In addition, it is considered that US President Joe Biden not only makes it difficult for US President-elect Donald Trump to end the war in Ukraine, but also threatens the outbreak of a global confrontation.
“Pour oil on the fire”
This came after Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov considered earlier today that Biden’s decision “adds fuel to the fire” and warned that if Washington officially confirms this decision, it will lead to “a completely new situation regarding the United States’ involvement in Ukrainian conflict. He said, "It is clear that the outgoing American administration intends to continue adding fuel to the fire and stirring up more tensions."
Russian President, Vladimir Putin, confirmed last September 12 that Ukrainian forces are unable to strike deep into his country with long-range Western weapons without the assistance of NATO military personnel and without intelligence data from its satellites, stressing that if this happens, he will participate directly. From NATO countries and the United States in the Ukrainian war, which will significantly change the essence and nature of the conflict.
It is noteworthy that Biden's decision to allow Kiev to use ATACMS long-range missile systems came a week after the US administration made room for American defense contractors to work in Ukraine for the first time in order to help repair Western weapons and train Ukrainian forces on them, including the Patriot missile defense system. And the F-16 jet fighter.
It was also stated that the Biden administration is also striving to provide Kiev with a new arms package worth more than $7 billion before the current president leaves the White House, for fear that the next administration headed by Donald Trump will limit arms shipments
