The Israeli Prime Minister announced on Tuesday that Israel will offer a reward of five million dollars to anyone who returns a hostage held in Gaza, according to a statement issued by his office.
He said in a video filmed inside the Gaza Strip, “Anyone who returns a hostage to us, we will provide him and his family with a safe way out of Gaza. We will also offer a reward of five million dollars for each hostage.”
He added, "Hamas will not rule the Gaza Strip after the end of the war," claiming that "Israel has destroyed the movement's military power."
Netanyahu confirmed during a visit to Gaza that Israel has not given up on trying to find the remaining hostages in the Strip, he said.
He continued, "Anyone who dares to harm our hostages...we will track you down and arrest you."
Everything collapses
The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted informed Israeli sources as saying, “There are no real negotiations regarding the hostages and everything is collapsing.”
In the latest discussions to discuss a ceasefire in Gaza, Hebrew media revealed that the last meeting held by Netanyahu with his senior security commanders did not reach any progress regarding the hostage deal.
Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the head of the Mossad and the official in charge of the hostage file in the army demanded more space to conduct negotiations.
She added, "At this week's meeting, Netanyahu and Katz rejected the proposals of the negotiating team regarding the hostage deal."
