The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned of the repercussions of hunger in the Gaza Strip reaching critical levels, calling for an immediate ceasefire.

She confirmed in a post on the “X” website that hunger has reached critical levels, as people search for leftover food in weeks-old waste.

She reported that the situation is deteriorating rapidly with the onset of winter, as the survival of the people becomes impossible without urgent humanitarian aid. She accompanied her statement with pictures showing the huge volume of waste in one of the streets of the affected sector.

UNRWA warned a few days ago that more than two million displaced people in Gaza are besieged by hunger, thirst and disease, stressing that obtaining meals has become an impossible task for families in the Strip.
