Hours after the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied it, the Kingdom of Bahrain announced, on Thursday, that its ambassador in Tel Aviv had returned to the Kingdom some time ago, noting that the Israeli ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain had also left the Kingdom some time ago.
The official news agency quoted the National Communications Center in Bahrain as saying that direct flights between Bahrain International Airport and Tel Aviv Airport had been suspended for several weeks.
The Center emphasized the approach of the Kingdom of Bahrain calling for enhancing security and stability and consolidating peace in the region, which is achieved by giving the Palestinian people their legitimate rights and finding a just solution to the Palestinian issue, leading to a two-state solution in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative, and in a way that guarantees the right of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their state. He explained that the priority of efforts at this stage must be focused on protecting the lives of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law and working to secure urgent humanitarian corridors to deliver relief and medical aid to the Gaza Strip in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Strip, and the need to spare the region from the consequences of a new spiral of violence and work To find a clear political horizon for a just, comprehensive and sustainable peace that guarantees stability and security for all.
The Bahraini Parliament announced, on Thursday, the departure of the Israeli ambassador to the country, the return of the Bahraini ambassador from Tel Aviv, and the cessation of economic relations between the two countries, in support of the Palestinian cause and rejection of the Gaza war.
The Council said, in a statement: “The House of Representatives confirms that the Israeli ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain has left, and the Kingdom decided to return the Bahraini ambassador from Israel to the country, and economic relations with Israel have also been suspended.”
He added: “This confirms the firm historical Bahraini position in support of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, which was announced by the Bahraini King in all conferences and events.”
Following this statement, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to the statement of the Bahraini Parliament, saying that relations between the two countries are stable.
In a statement issued by it, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, on Thursday, that relations between Israel and Bahrain are “stable,” explaining that it had not received any “announcement or decision from the Bahraini government to summon the countries’ ambassadors.”
