An Israeli channel publishes the results of an investigation into the Al-Aqsa flood...

Israeli Channel 12 published the conclusions reached by an investigation committee formed by the Israeli army regarding the failure to confront the Palestinian resistance attack on Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
The most prominent of these conclusions is that the Israeli army leadership in the south had a wrong concept about defense capabilities, which led to an inappropriate response to threats, according to the report.
The investigation committee also concluded that one of the reasons for the failure was the military system’s confidence that the security wall on the Gaza Strip border could not be stormed, and that intelligence would warn in advance of any unusual attack planned by the Palestinian resistance.
The conclusions also stated that the Israeli military leadership in the south estimated that Hamas’ plan was illogical and did not act despite prior warnings.
The conclusions of the investigation were that the Southern Command of the Israeli army believed that a plan that had been reviewed before the attack and bore the name “Jericho Wall” was considered an impossible scenario to achieve, and they considered the document invalid, and accordingly no appropriate measures were taken.
The “Jericho Wall” is a document that was submitted to the head of Israeli military intelligence, Aharon Haleva, who resigned in April 2024, and the leadership of the Southern Region in May 2022, and it detailed Hamas’ plans to attack the Gaza envelope, but senior officials Officials recommended not to focus on it, because the movement does not have the ability to implement it, in their belief.
Also, it was stated in the conclusions of the investigation committee that the most dangerous scenario for which Israel had prepared was the infiltration of between one and three groups of Hamas at the same time into the Israeli side.
It was also stated in the committee’s conclusions that reducing the security forces on the Gaza border was a reason for the numerical superiority of the Hamas movement.
Israeli Channel 12 said that the investigation will be presented to the Israeli Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevy, within two weeks, and it is expected that decisions will be taken regarding some Israeli army commanders based on it.
