The leadership of the Syrian factions orders its fighters to withdraw from the cities

Two sources close to Syrian armed faction fighters told Reuters, on Tuesday, that the forces command had ordered its fighters to withdraw from the cities and to deploy units affiliated with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham from the police and internal security forces.
This comes as Muhammad Al-Bashir said in a television statement that he has been assigned to head a transitional government in Syria until the first of March 2025.
Al-Bashir was heading the rescue government formed by the opposition before the 12-day lightning attack that led to the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad.
Attention is directed towards the prospects of the transitional phase and the extent of the actors’ ability to achieve lasting stability that will rebuild the state and ensure territorial integrity.
The transitional phase in Syria appears to be full of both challenges and opportunities. The consensus among experts revolves around the necessity of building a modern state based on patriotism and inclusiveness, while adhering to international legitimacy.
The armed factions announced, on Sunday, “the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad and the beginning of a new era for Syria,” after their forces entered Damascus at dawn on Sunday following a quick attack that ended the rule of the Assad family, which extended for more than 5 decades.
