South Korea Defense Minister is trying to commit suicide in his prison

Prison authorities in South Korea announced, on Wednesday, that resigned Defense Minister Kim Jong-hyun attempted suicide after being imprisoned as part of the case of imposing martial law in the country.
The South Korean Yonhap News Agency said that Kim, who resigned from the position of Defense Minister on Thursday, attempted to commit suicide inside prison before the judiciary officially issued an official arrest warrant against him on charges of rebellion.
The former minister is accused of playing a “decisive role during the rebellion” and “abusing power to obstruct the exercise of rights.”
Kim was arrested on Sunday, before the judiciary issued an official arrest warrant against him on Tuesday.
In the same context, the police announced, on Wednesday, that they had raided the office of President Yoon Suk-yeol, a week after his failed attempt to impose martial law in the country.
The police said in a statement, “The special investigation team conducted a search at the Presidential Office, the National Police Agency, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and the National Assembly Security Department.”
On the night of December 3 to 4, Yoon (63 years old) suddenly announced the imposition of martial law, before only 6 hours later he was forced to withdraw this step under pressure from Parliament and the street.
On Saturday, the South Korean president evaded a parliamentary motion to impeach him, presented by the opposition, due to his failed attempt to impose martial law.
On Monday, the South Korean Ministry of Justice announced that it had imposed a travel ban on the president, while police were investigating him on charges of rebellion against the backdrop of his attempt to impose martial law.
