“The Sun”: Israel is preparing to attack Iranian nuclear bases

The British newspaper "The Sun" said that Israel is seeking to exploit the state of "weakness and isolation" that Iran is experiencing to strike its nuclear bases.
The newspaper indicated that the Israeli army will take advantage of this rare opportunity to launch these strikes after Tehran’s allies fell one after another and eliminated 85 percent of the remnants of the Syrian army, through a wave of 480 strikes, which gave it complete superiority in the airspace.
Concern about the Iranian nuclear program
Israel has discussed striking Iranian nuclear facilities for years but has hesitated, in part because of US warnings against such a move, but an international security expert said in October that the time is now ripe for Israel to disrupt the Iranian threat.
David Albright, founder of the Institute for Science and International Security, told The Sun newspaper that Iran's nuclear facilities are "legitimate" targets for Israel, due to real concerns about Iran developing its nuclear production.
These fears are becoming more acute now with Iran's weakness, as it may be more desperate to develop nuclear weapons in order to feel secure in light of its threats.
Israel's plan amid regional tensions
Israel's plan is also taking shape amid fears of the return of ISIS by exploiting the government vacuum and lack of structure in Syria.
The United States has not confirmed its joining Israel's anti-Iranian nuclear mission, but incoming US President Donald Trump is said to be "evaluating options" to stop its nuclear project, and air strikes are among the possibilities.
This move would be an escalation by the United States, which has long avoided direct military action against Iran.
The government-in-waiting is working on the “Maximum Pressure 2.0” plan, which will include imposing strict sanctions against Iran, as Trump did during his first term.
Israeli attacks in Syria
Israel feels this opportunity after launching a wave of strikes on what remains of the Syrian army.
The air attacks began last weekend and continued this week to prevent weapons from falling “into the hands of terrorists.”
The preventive strikes were concentrated in western and southern Syria, near Damascus, and targeted air and naval bases.
Most of the naval fleet of the regime of former President Bashar al-Assad was destroyed in the port of Latakia, and dozens of naval missiles were eliminated there.
The Israeli Air Force also targeted an ammunition convoy near Qamishli Air Base, believed to contain Iranian missiles
