The Commander-in-Chief of the Military Coordination Room, Ahmed al-Sharaa, nicknamed Abu Muhammad al-Julani, announced that all military factions will be merged into one institution under the management of the Ministry of Defense in the new Syrian army, in a move aimed at unifying the military forces and organizing them within an institutional framework.

In the same context, the statement stated that engineer Murhaf Abu Qasra was assigned to serve as Minister of Defense in the Syrian Interim Government.

Abu Qasra holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering, and worked as a military capabilities engineer in the liberated areas since the start of the armed operations, where he led most of the operations.
