In the new ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in the Gaza Strip between Hamas and Israel, Cairo is hosting a meeting within days to develop a final vision for the deal.
Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath sources revealed today, Thursday, that amendments had been made to the first phase of the deal.
The sources also said that within the first phase, a number of captured Israeli soldiers will be released, along with the elderly and the sick, to facilitate the agreement.
10-day deadline
The mediators (the United States, Egypt and Qatar) asked Hamas and Israel not to submit any new proposals and to be content with their previous demands to make the negotiations successful.
The mediators also suggested postponing the controversial points and working to resolve them after implementing the first phase of the prisoner exchange deal.
In turn, Hamas requested a final deadline of ten days to prepare a detailed list of the living prisoners held by the movement since October 7, 2023, according to the same sources.
Since the beginning of the Israeli war on the seventh of last October, following the attack launched by Hamas on Israeli settlements and military bases in the Gaza envelope, only one truce has been implemented in November 2023, during which about 100 Israeli prisoners were released while Hamas announced the killing of dozens. Some of them were carried out in random Israeli raids..
