The Israeli army is monitoring a series of ongoing military exercises in , according to Israeli Channel 13.
The channel explained, quoting the Israeli army, that Iranian military formations conducted a series of exercises in the past two weeks that were designed to show force, after the Israeli army attacked Iran last October 26 and targeted its defenses.
On the other hand, senior security officials in Iran stated that the purpose of the maneuvers is to showcase Iran’s offensive and defensive capabilities, in an attempt to convey a message that Iran’s defensive capabilities are sound despite the weaknesses.
The Israeli channel indicated that the series of Iranian exercises included intercepting launches by air defense systems in sensitive areas, in addition to many exercises for ground forces throughout the country
The Iranian exercises included a maneuver with the participation of 110,000 forces in Tehran, and the Israeli channel considered it an operation against the interior and not the outside, aiming to incite fear among the Iranian public
A senior official in the Israeli security service told Channel 13 that Tel Aviv is monitoring Iranian training to deepen knowledge of the Iranian military regime through intelligence surveillance.
The Israeli security source confirmed that the army is on defensive alert against Iran and its agents.
General Behrouz Esbati, who was the most senior Iranian military commander in , revealed in a speech last week that Assad rejected Iran’s requests to open a front against Israel from Syria after October 7.
He spoke about the extent of the Iranian defeat in Syria after the overthrow of Assad, in contrast to the reassuring statements of the Iranian leadership, saying: “We were defeated in Syria, we were subjected to a fatal blow.”
The Iranian general accused Russia of misleading Iran and supporting Israeli attacks by turning off radars while Israel was attacking Iranian targets in Syria.
Isbati admitted that Iran, in its current state, is unable to carry out another round of direct attacks on Israel, especially in light of the current international circumstances
