On Saturday morning, the Iranian Supreme Court in Tehran witnessed a shooting incident that resulted in the killing of two prominent judges, according to the Mizan Online agency affiliated with the country’s judiciary.
The agency said that the two judges who were judged were Ali Razini, head of Branch 39, and Muhammad Muqissa, head of Branch 53.
It was reported that the perpetrator of the attack was carrying a firearm and was able to enter the court building in an unannounced manner.
After carrying out the attack, he tried to escape before committing suicide.
The judicial authorities stated that the attacker did not have any cases pending in court and had no connection to any of its auditors.
This incident comes in light of ongoing investigations to uncover the identity of the parties that may be behind this attack, amid confirmations that the operation targeted individuals known for their participation in combating crimes against national security, espionage, and terrorism.
It should be noted that Judge Ali Razini had previously survived an assassination attempt in January 1999, when he was serving as Chief Justice of Tehran.
