The Syrian Foreign Minister welcomes the suspension of European sanctions

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al -Shaibani welcomed, today, Monday, the decision to lift sanctions on Syria, describing it as a "positive step."
Al -Shaibani said in a post on the X platform: "We welcome the positive step that the European Union initiated by suspending the sanctions imposed on a period of one year in preparation for their permanently lifting them, and we look forward to this decision positively reflects on all aspects of life for the Syrian people, and secures sustainable development."
European Union foreign policy official, Kaya Callas, said earlier that the foreign ministers of the bloc agreed on a road map to alleviate sanctions from Syria.
The sanctions were imposed on the government of former President Bashar al -Assad and all sectors of the Syrian economy during the civil war.
