Sharia receives an unprecedented call from the largest ally of Assad

The Kremlin said, on Wednesday, that Russian President Vladimir Putin has made a phone call to his Syrian counterpart, Ahmed Al -Shara, in their first communication since the fall of Bashar al -Assad regime.
A statement issued by the Kremlin stated that "an in -depth exchange of opinions on the current situation in Syria, and the Russian side confirmed its initial position in support of the unity, sovereignty and integrity of the lands of the Syrian state."
Putin wished Sharia "success in solving the tasks offered." The heads of the two countries agreed to continue communications to develop bilateral cooperation.
Putin emphasized that Russia is ready to continue helping to improve the situation in Syria, including providing humanitarian aid.
He also emphasized the Russian Federation's readiness to help improve the social and economic situation in Syria.
Russia was one of the most prominent supporters of the head of the ousted Syrian regime, Bashar al -Assad, who fled to Moscow after the overthrow of the opposition forces last December.
Russia hopes to continue to use its marine and air bases in Syria, namely, Tartous Naval and Hmeimim Air Force Base.
